Ten Ways to Make Money at Your House
Crafts Business – It takes more than being artistic to start your own business selling your own arts and crafts wares. First, you have to be very good at what you make, and then you have to decide whether to market online or in-person. If you think this is for you, google the resources.
eBay Seller – If you have an eye for value, a good sense of commerce, and a camera, selling items on eBay could be a home business for you. But there are many questions to answer before starting an eBay business. (What to sell? Where to get inventory? Should you open an eBay store? How do you price your items? How to write your listings?)
Bed and Breakfast – There’s still the traditional B&B option of purchasing an inn or home and opening it up to overnighters. However, today you can also start booking guests into your home with services like Airbnb, though it is important to know the potential pitfalls. Evplore the laws in your city, too, since many are beginning to tighten up on regulations due to complaints from other homeowners.

Flea Market Seller – If you have a talent for sales and/or conversation, and prefer to buy and sell stuff in person, then selling your goods a flea market or in a stall at a consignment or antique shop might be a good choice. This could be instead of or along with selling online.
Interior Decorator – To start your own home business as an interior decorator may involve a degree in a related field and/or experience as or with a designer in order to get new clients. One easier route is a home décor sales company, sometimes MLM. But if your desire is to become a decorator, start by gaining the credentials you need.
Real Estate Agent – Selling real estate is not a quick-start business. You need to get education, license, and perhaps work for an established firm first, but it can certainly be lucrative and it may allow some flexibility with your time. The less expensive home office will help cut into the overhead of the profession.
Home Staging Business – For someone with decorating flair and/or knowledge of the real estate world, setting homes up for sale or open houses may be a good business for you to start while you work toward your goal of interior decorator or real estate agent. 8 Landlord/Property Management – Owning properties that you rent is not an auto-pilot business where rent checks just appear every month. There is a good deal of work to it, finding a tenant, maintaining properties, and finding the right rental properties to purchase. If you have the money to invest in a property, you can make this your home business. However for some landlords, the work involved is more than they want, and those people often hire a property manager. So either landlord or property management is a possible home business.
Drive Your Car – The investment required to get into this business has changed dramatically in the last few years. No longer do you have to invest in the license and a cab to make money as a driver. Today people are using their phones and personal cars to become drideshare rivers for companies like Lyft and Uber in their free time. In our city, incidentally, it is a wonderful part-time business, but there are too many to use it as a full-time income, so check where you live.
Pet Sitting/House Sitter – Probably most people who hire house sitters have a pet on the premises that will need care, but there are some who may just want to keep up the appearance that someone his home. House-sitting jobs may be live-in or not. Arrange your gigs to work for your schedule, but check the going rates where you live, because they vary tremendously.
